The One With First Haircut & Gamberetto Pizza

You see, I attended a friend's daughter 2nd birthday party last Saturday and was inspired. Not by the party but I was inspired by her daughter neatly trimmed hair. I've been meaning to trim lil' missy's hair for quite some time, only I had no guts to do it. No guts simply means I can't stand seeing lil' missy creating chaos something similar in her paed's office.

Since I was still in 'inspired mode' on last Sunday, I told my hubba to give it a go. We brought lil' missy to this Cheeky Monkey Cuts salon for kids situated in GE Mall. I had to explain to the stylist and what not and lil' missy was seated on a novelty toy car and the rest was history. heh. Alhamdulillah everything went well except there were few times she was distracted with stuffs in front of her. No huru-hara, no screaming, no kicking, nothing. In fact lil' missy managed to thank her stylist, thanjchi - that is how she say thank you, she is still in her babytalk phase. :)

So hubba and I thought we ought to 'celebrate' the success of lil' missy's first haircut, we headed to Alexis downstairs and ordered Gamberetto Pizza, a thin crust pizza with fresh herbs, tomatoes and prawns. It was love at first bite I must say. I accompanied it with a small pot of ginger & lemongrass hot tea. Heaven. :)

The One In The Bookstore.

I had a good weekend. I like it when it rains. I went to KLCC and had sundanese food, it was raining, I went to GE Mall yesterday and had tomyam, again, it was raining. In fact at this very moment, it is raining. What's not to like about rainy days?

After having tomyam for an early dinner, we stopped by in a bookstore, in the midst of me perusing yet another chic lit, I heard a voice, a voice belongs to a mom whom annoyed to one of her daughter for not buying the thing she needs, the daughter of course, not the mom, instead the girl choose other thing. It turns out the important thing is a set of colour pencil. I am not being judgemental. Maybe it seems petty to shout at your daughter over a a set of colour pencil. I don't know. Lil' Missy is small enough for me to buy her a set of colour pencil (though she has a set of crayon - courtesy of my BIL) let alone making sure 'fiercely' borrowing colour pencils is a big no-no. I saw her daughter with teary-eyed running to a corner laden with loads of you know what, colour pencils of course.

I am sure by the time anyone who finish reading this entry will label me as a nosy parker. hah. You see, I am a mom. I need to know whether the other mom's action is a right way for me to imply on lil missy whenever she needs to buy a set of colour pencil say - in 6 years time.

The drama didnt end right away. Instead the mom cornered her daughter and keep on membebel at her daughter about priorities and what not. The fun part to watch was everytime her daughter trying to get away from her she would stopped her and cornered her crying daughter yet again. I couldnt remember how long the issue took place but all I could remember was I had to sit down in kids & toddler section and perused Roald Dahl's books and wait for the mom to finish her issues with her daughter until I can happily browsing books again. Without me realising it the mom made her purchase and left. I picked an Archie comic and dragged hubba together lil' missy out of the bookstore.

I am not saying what she did was wrong but at the same time I just couldn't comprehend. I was hoping the drama would end soon because at one time she cornered her daughter at the section of chic lit. I was also hoping it would end sooner because I was quite scared of that mom. She's the kind of mom who can yell not only to her daughter but to the nosy parker like me who is trying to comprehend what is going on at that time. I was so much hoping that she would just say no to her daughter's choice, grab a set of colour pencil, make a payment and go instead of raising her voice speeching on why should her daughter prioritise the colour pencils.

In case the fierce mom stumble upon my entry, I am sorry I had to type this. Perhaps I am going to follow your footsteps along the way, perhaps I am not. I hope I won't. Oh by the way, to the mom, I guess your dark brown LV bag is nice :)

The One With Screaming & Wailing.

I am so over with lil' missy's immunisations. No more wailing, screaming, you name it in the paed's office. I hope to see the paed, Dr. Khairul, insyaAllah only for the next two and the half years from last night. Just don't get me wrong, he is a pleasant paed, friendly and most importantly he is very informative but I hate the part when lil' missy started to scream the minute she sees her paed mundar-mandir in his office, or even worse she would starts her perangai starting when the nurses trying to weigh & measure her weight & height.

Never in any of my previous visits, I've encountered with any moms weighing together with their tots and that's what I had to do last night. I had to carry her and stand on the foot scale and the nurse will minus the digits in order to get lil' missy's current weight. And thats the weighing part, when it comes to measuring the height, hubba & I had to measure her instead of the nurses doing it.

Lil' missy is currently 18-month old and at 89cms and 14kgs :)

Let me skip the 'jab' part. I am too drained even to think about it. Her screaming still lingers in my ears. In the meantime, I can't wait to devour on the mee rebus which my brother bought all the way from Ampang for my lunch. Yippee!
